Hong Kong University of Science and Technology R and D Corporation Limited (the Company) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (the University). We have been serving as the vehicle for commercialization and exploitation of the research conducted at the University. We provide contractual, financial and administrative support for the University's technology transfer, collaborative research and consulting activities with the industry. 


Job Description

The appointee will be responsible for assisting the Company on financial and administrative matters for projects and activities funded by the Research, Academic and Industry Sectors One-plus Scheme (RAISe+), the new funding scheme of the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC). Major financial and procurement related responsibilities of the appointee include:

  • Liaision with the University departments, project teams and HKUST startups to prepare project and company’s budgets for RAISe+ applications.
  • Provision of daily accounting and cash management, budget and funding control, liaison on internal and external audit matters, purchasing of items for the projects, etc.
  • Provision of HR functions including payroll, insurance, MPF administration, etc.
  • Handle enquiries from project teams, HKUST startups and ITC, etc.
  • Provision of other office administrative functions.



Applicants should possess a bachelor's degree preferably in accounting.  The ideal candidate should have a recognized professional qualification in accountancy and more than 5 years’ post-qualification experience. Candidates should have experience in handling the financial and administrative matters of ITF projects. He/She should be self-motivated and have strong analytical, organizational abilities, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua) is required. Work experience in public sector is an advantage. (Duration: 2 years)


Remuneration and conditions of service

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
